I want Cary to have a story line that has nothing to do with Kalinda.  Cary is an interesting character but it feels like his only tie to the show is Kalinda and her never ending problems.  Kalinda is my favorite character but I don’t want the rest of season 3 to be like season 2, everytime Cary was on the screen it was to help Kalinda.  I don’t even want a story with Dana.  The only time that Cary is on the show, when he’s not representing the state, is for a love interest (they made him look sleezy in the beginning of this season too, checking out every woman that walked into the States Attorney office).  The Good Wife has proven that the show is much stronger when they stay away from romance and focus on friendship.  I know the name of the show is The Good Wife and not The Good Deputy States Attorney, and he’s often at odds with Alicia but he could use a different story line.  Matt Czuchry is a great actor and Cary has the potential to be a great character.  They have started to show that he is a strong character, a talented attorney and is the less morally ambiguous character of the show.  They should continue with that because Cary deserves more than being part of the Cary/Kalinda story line.

Amen. I’ve nothing against Cary being part of Kalinda’s storyline (and this year he wasn’t even this) until they also give him a storyline that is ALSO about him and that helps viewers to get a better character’s view. It would be refreshing having Kalinda or other characters being part of Cary’s storyline for once and possibily being here FOR HIM for once. And this year writers really had MANY opportunities to do it so I really don’t understand their choices about Cary’s character. They promoted him but we really didn’t see anything coming out from this plot. Dana was a totally waste of time for Cary and she doesn’t even count as love interest because she mainly interacted with Kalinda and face it: even Dana got more screentime than Cary. And what about Cary and Peter? They had that big scene at the end of season 2 between those two but we didn’t see so much of Cary and Peter relationship. We just know that Peter likes working with him because Alicia said so….I hate that almost everything that is striclty about Cary happens off screen. And that blog! It’s like their way to say: hey, that’s all you can have, guys.

I was expecting a bigger role for Cary in all that Will’s investigation, a wonderful chance to show how he was handling his new responsibilities and how he was getting over his revenge agenda and just growing up. Instead for the last 8 or 9 episodes we got contrived plots, brief scenes or short lines which came ouf from nowhere and that really didn’t do anything special for the character. And when was the last time we saw him in court fighthing for a case and not just being Wendy’s lackey?

I agree. Matt Czuchry deserves more than this.
